Injuries

Conor Bradley

Bradley underwent surgery on a significant knee injury he suffered away at Arsenal in January.

Andoni Iraola on September 14: "I think he is not close to training with the team. He's training alone but he has started touching the ball. Definitely I want him as quick as possible ready but it's a long-term injury."

Hugo Ekitike

The French forward, who ruptured his Achilles tendon back in April, has been included in Liverpool's squad for the Champions League league phase.

Iraola on September 11: "I think it's difficult with these long-term injuries, I think he's still far [away]. But we had a meeting with the medical department to analyse when we completed the [squad] list for the European games. There is a reasonable chance that he could help us in the last two games of the group stages.

"But it's still very early to say. It's very early because it's a long-term injury [and] a big part of the rehab [he] is still to meet. But if we decide to put him there, it is because there is a hope and there is a realistic chance that he could help us in January."

Jeremie Frimpong

Frimpong sustained a muscle injury soon after coming on as a half-time substitute during Liverpool's Premier League win at Brentford.

Iraola on October 19: "[It] is obviously a new muscle injury and it happened, I think, in the second or third minute he was playing, difficult to predict and we will have to wait until he recovers. But it’s going to be difficult, I think, before the [November international] break. We will try but it's going to be difficult to have him."

Giovanni Leoni

Leoni has not played since September 2025 due to an ACL injury.

Iraola on October 15: "It's taking more time than we wanted. The planning was to train with the team in this past international break [but] probably it's going to be in the next international break, so we've lost one month in the process.

"Giovanni's injury, I wasn't here but talking to the medical department, it was not just an ACL – it was a bad injury, a lot of things around the knee were involved apart from the ACL.

"He has to be very confident, the rehab process has to be very careful with him and we want to make sure once he comes to the team, he stays there in a good place.

"It's true that we've had, not a setback, but a little bit of a delay, if you want. The plan now is he starts in the next break. It's not that far but it's a little bit later than we expected, yes."

Victor Munoz, Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz

Wirtz is expected to be available for the Carabao Cup meeting with Chelsea, despite being forced off against Brighton & Hove Albion with a twisted ankle.

But it is doubtful Munoz and Szoboszlai will return for the fourth-round tie at Anfield.

Iraola on October 27: "We still have to wait, we train later. We want to [use] this last day. He was quite fine, Florian – I'm quite optimistic that he will be available.

"And with Dom and Victor, I'm not so sure. I don't want to say no, but I think it’s going to be more difficult than Florian, yes."

Suspensions

A yellow card for either Ronald Araujo or Milos Kerkez against Chelsea will see them miss the Carabao Cup quarter-finals if Liverpool progress.
