Injuries

Conor Bradley

Bradley underwent surgery on a significant knee injury he suffered away at Arsenal in January.

Andoni Iraola on September 14: "I think he is not close to training with the team. He's training alone but he has started touching the ball. Definitely I want him as quick as possible ready but it's a long-term injury."

Hugo Ekitike

The French forward, who ruptured his Achilles tendon back in April, has been included in Liverpool's squad for the Champions League league phase.

Iraola on September 11: "I think it's difficult with these long-term injuries, I think he's still far [away]. But we had a meeting with the medical department to analyse when we completed the [squad] list for the European games. There is a reasonable chance that he could help us in the last two games of the group stages.

"But it's still very early to say. It's very early because it's a long-term injury [and] a big part of the rehab [he] is still to meet. But if we decide to put him there, it is because there is a hope and there is a realistic chance that he could help us in January."

Jeremie Frimpong and Dominik Szoboszlai

Both players were forced off during Liverpool's Premier League win at Brentford.

Szoboszlai had previously missed the matches with Manchester City and LASK.

Iraola on October 17: "Dom felt the same injury, it's not a new injury and was probably not healed enough, so we will need more time with him. Jeremie's was new, I think he finished cramping the other day [against LASK].

"I put him on because playing against 10, going forward I thought he could give us more than Ronald [Araujo]. After, I value a lot and he was very good, Victor playing as a right-back.

"But it will mean we will lose Dom and Jeremie for some time, yes."

Giovanni Leoni

Leoni has not played since September 2025 due to an ACL injury.

Iraola on October 15: "It's taking more time than we wanted. The planning was to train with the team in this past international break [but] probably it's going to be in the next international break, so we've lost one month in the process.

"Giovanni's injury, I wasn't here but talking to the medical department, it was not just an ACL – it was a bad injury, a lot of things around the knee were involved apart from the ACL.

"He has to be very confident, the rehab process has to be very careful with him and we want to make sure once he comes to the team, he stays there in a good place.

"It's true that we've had, not a setback, but a little bit of a delay, if you want. The plan now is he starts in the next break. It's not that far but it's a little bit later than we expected, yes."

Suspensions

Ryan Gravenberch has served his one-match ban in the Premier League and can return for the clash with Brighton & Hove Albion on October 25.
