Florian Wirtz featured as Germany beat Ivory Coast 2-1 and confirmed a place in the World Cup knockout stage.
Franck Kessie had given the African side a first-half lead in Saturday’s Group E encounter held in Toronto.
But Germany substitute Deniz Undav equalised midway through the second period and then fired in a winning goal during stoppage time.
The victory means Germany, for whom Wirtz played the whole match, are guaranteed a spot in the last 32.
They will complete the group phase by facing Ecuador next Thursday (June 25).
